Popular stand-up comedian, Basketmouth is bereaved. He mother passed on last night, October 3.
The popular comedian announced the sad news on Instagram:
"Last night my angel left me, my first love stopped breathing and it's the deepest pain I've ever felt. I love you for every sacrifice you made to make me the man I am today, I've loved you through the tough times. I've loved you through happier days and all I can say at this point is that I will love you forever. I will miss you mummy."
May her soul rest in peace!

Police Arrest One Of The Suspects Of Enugu State Herdsmen Attack

The Police in Enugu State, today, Friday, August 26, confirmed the arrest of one the suspected masterminds of an attack on Attakwu community.
Four others, including a pregnant woman, whose intestine was ripped off, are still battling for survival.
However, in a statement issued by the Enugu State Police command’s spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu, stated that one of the suspects had been apprehended.

Marketers Excited About New Petrol Price

 Independent oil marketers have expressed satisfaction with the decision of the federal government to increase the price of petrol to N145 per litre.

Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi, the Vice President, Independent Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), who spoke on behalf of his members commended the Federal Government on the new pump price of petrol.

Gunmen Attack Rivers community, Behead one

 
Gunmen have attacked Mgbuitanwo community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, killing and beheading a 28-year-old man.

The victim, who was identified as Mr. Ukeoma, was shot before he was decapitated by the unknown gunmen, who gained entry into the community at about 5:30am this morning.

Gunmen Attack Police Station, Bank In Bayelsa

 
A gang of unknown gunmen yesterday, Saturday, March 12, attacked a police division in Ammassoma, in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area,  Bayelsa State.

The suspected armed militants, who came in three speedboats, also attempted to raid the branch of the United Bank for Africa in the area, destroying some of the bank’s Automated Teller Machines in the process.

Woman Stabs Man For Touching Her Breast

Today, Friday, March 4, Ifeoma Okoroafor, 28, told a Gudu Upper Area Court in the Federal Capital Territory that she inflicted injuries on a man because he touched her breast.

Okoroafor pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of joint act and causing hurt contrary to Section 79 and 245 of the Penal Code.

Soldiers Arrest Four Boko Haram Spies In Bauchi

 
The soldiers of the 33 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Bauchi, have arrested four persons for carrying out surveillance activities of the Boko Haram insurgents.

The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said in a statement on Wednesday one the detained terrorists spies, Victor Moses, carried out a surveillance mission for the Boko Haram before the attack on the Catholic Church at Madallah, Niger State on December 25, 2011.

Another 14-year-old Benue Girl Kidnapped In Sokoto, Allegedly Housed By Sultan


 
Despite the angry reactions that trailed the alleged kidnap of 16 year old Esse Oruru from Bayelsa state to Kano, relations of another missing 14 year old girl, Patience Paul, have alleged that the primary six student of Mohammed Zako Model Primary school, Sokoto may have been abducted and housed at the palace of the Sultan of Sokoto.

A near pandemonium was averted Monday morning, January 18, as protesting staff of Jimoh Ibrahim and some members of Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, gate crashed and disrupted the ongoing 5th Energy Group GMD Conference, holding at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria.
The protesters, who stormed the hall while Ibrahim was taking on his staff on a strategy lecture, launched into protest songs, demanding for their 14-month salary arrears. For 15 minutes, the drama was beamed live on AIT.

Nigeria’s refineries to produce 10m litres of PMS daily – Kachikwu

 
According to the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, the nation’s four refineries had been repositioned to produce 10 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, per day.

Kachikwu said this on yesterday, Sunday, December 27, during his official visit to Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC). He stated that the mission of the visit was to ascertain the current state of the refinery and identify areas of challenges for the workers at the refinery.

Mother of House of Rep memeber, Orker Jev Kidnapped

 Mrs. Mwuese Jev, the 73-year-old mother of member-elect, House of Representatives for Buruku Federal constituency, Orker Jev, was abducted by gunmen about 8:00 pm from her home in Tombo village, Buruku LGA, Benue State on Wednesday, May 20.
The woman, according to her son, Orker, was whisked away by some terrific gunmen. He added that his mother’s whereabouts is unknown as the kidnappers were yet to make any demands.
Police spokesman, ASP Austin Ezeani, said the kidnappers drove in a red Toyota Camry car in which the woman was taken away.

Zebrudaya Okoroigwe and Lolo Catherine Olunkwa for Living Legend Award

 


African Focus Incorporated (AFI) has selected Chief Chika Okpala popularly known as Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwogbo alias 4:30 as a recipient of the prestigious Living Legend Award billed to place in California in April.
Okpala is easily identified with one of Nigeria’s comedy series titled, “New Masquarde” which got Nigerians glued to their television set between 1983 and 1993. He became famous for using incorrect English in his role as Chief Zebrudaya and continued with that style years after New Masquerade was rested.
