The defense lawyer says that these accused weren't there in Mumbai on that fateful night as they had gone to Shirdi, on the third of july, and presents bus tickets to Shirdi, for the second of July. Urmi says that it's possible, that they went and then returned before fifth of july too.
The lawyer says that he knew she would question about this, and hence give the lodge bills for their stay there. Urmi says that such documents can be found anywhere, and didn't expect him to be this naive to present them as solid evidence in the court. He asks if this is childish, then how can it be proven that they were in Mumbai on fifth of July. She says with confidence that she was waiting for this very question. He is boggled. Urmi presents them the mobile phone bills’, which shows the details of the sim and its location and says that these clearly prove that they weren't in Shirdi but in Mumbai, that fateful night of the fifth of july. The steno gives the papers to the judge to verify. The lawyer commends her thorough work, and her brilliant lawyer skills, but for her information, he gives in another piece of information.
The lawyer states that before the fifth of july, the three mobile phones were stolen. Urmi is boggled, but says that this is a very weird co-incidence, that all the 3 phones were stolen. The rapist lawyer says that their stuff was stoen, when they were boarding the bus. She casually asks the lawyer to let the accused talk. He complies. She turns to the accused, and asks about that incident, and that they must have gotten an FIR. They deny. She says that they took the lodge bills, but forget to file an FIR for the stolen stuff when it was all they had. The main culprit says that they were tired of Mumbai, and then pretends a sob story, that they tried to start afresh in Shirdi. She asks if they find this stry believable. The lawyer stands up and says that out of thousands of cases, only some of them get reported or see the court doors. He says that if they even agree that his clients were in Mumbai, how will she prove that they entered into a scuffle with Karan that night. She asks the judge for another hearing to prove that they were the rapists. The judge complies with another date, and adjourns the case. The defense lawyer is tensed. Urmi turns to Diya hopefully. Anirudh and Shaurya approve of Urmi’s brilliant lawyer skills. Urmi caresses Diya’s face.
Urmi puts Nikam as well as the three attackers in a very hot seat and they are left shocked. The defense lawyer, Nikam couldn't believe that a first timer lawyer is trying hard to defeat in court. Anirudh and others praising Urmi for putting up such a fight against the rapists’ lawyer. Urmi says she was nervous as well, but then she got Diya’s face in front of her eyes. Shaurya and Diya tell her they always had faith in her. Shaurya wonders about how those rapists got money for top lawyer’s fees and also how they were able to out on bail. Urmi says she also thought about it. Shaurya raises a question that makes everyone wonder who is supporting the attackers? Shaurya says there must be someone supporting them. On the other hand, the lawyer meets someone at an exclusive location and assures the person that Urmi may have challenged him today, but in the end they will win. The person gives him money and the lawyer promise him that he will make him bring victory faster.
Shaurya returns home from somewhere and it starts raining. He runs inside, but then stops and comes outside again and enjoys the rain. Diya comes to the balcony to get all the clothes. Shaurya asks her to join him but she refuses. Shaurya reminds her how she used to enjoy rain and invite him. He invites her saying she’s missing something good, just like she used to say to him. She agrees. She comes out and both enjoy the rain together. Karan sees this and gets jealous. Damini also sees them and gets angry. As Karan and Damini both see how close Diya and Shaurya have suddenly become, Damini comes outside and tells Ishaani to enjoy the rain as well like Shaurya and Diya. Ishaani says she doesn’t like rain and all that and asks what if she gets sick. She further tells grandma Damini not to get started now and leaves. Sandhya asks Damini why she’s always behind Diya and if she’s getting happiness, then to let her be. Damini says her clothes are touching to her body, she’s all wet, and is with Shaurya like that. Sandhya reminds her that Diya is a good girl and she is not understanding her correctly. Diya comes in and goes to her room. Sandhya tells Damini that Diya got smile for the first time after that incident, and asks to let it go. Damini says she won’t compromise her house’s happiness for her.
Outside, Karan who have seen how close Diya and Shaurya have suddenly become taunts Shaurya and tells him to have some fun with Diya as well. He says some dirty things which angers Shaurya. Karan asks if he’s in love with her? Shaurya is all quiet. Karan warns her that she’s not worth to be love or marriage, and advice him to be careful. Shaurya again gets angry and says what a selfish person like him would know about love.
While Diya is drying her hair, Damini who have seen how close Diya and Shaurya have suddenly become comes there and says it doesn’t look like she was raped. Diya is confused. Damini says the way she was enjoying outside, she would invite anyone to assault her. Diya says she is not understanding her and sneezes. Damini tells her not to get sick now, else Shaurya and Urmi will take the whole house on their head, and so will Anirudh. Diya assures her that she’s fine. Damini thank God that if she stays fine, then all will stay fine. She leaves.
Diya, Urmi and Shaurya plead to the operator to let them atleast see the CCTV footage of that night, to see if they can retrieve anything useful out of it. He complies. When they see the footage, Diya distraughtedly recognises the van, as horrific memories of the nightmare come back to her. They see that the van keeps coming back again and again, in the CCTV footage, meaning that the van was circling around this area while they raped Diya. They find the van evidence extremely worthwhile, while Shaurya is relieved. Urmi says that this will help their case immensely. Diya stands tensed.
The next day at Urmi’s residence, while Urmi works on the case, Anirudh sits, Damini also comes there and taunts Urmi, that if she finds time, from being a lawyer, an NGO owner and a hotelier, she should pay attention to her household duties as well. Urmi is boggled and asks what's the matter as she seemsd to have things at control in the house. Damini asks if she knows what love is brewing right under their noses. Urmi and Anirudh are boggled. Damini callously points out, that in the bid to get Diya justice, she is fimrly establishing her feet in this house forever, by trapping the innocent Shaurya, to permanent her place, as a part of a vicious plan. They are outraged and Anirudh asks Damini to shut up. Urmi says that she must have had some misunderstanding as it isn't possible. Damini reminds her that Diya was a rape victim and Shaurya, being a good guy standing by her for her support, and hence this is the best bet for her. They are appalled at Damini’s callous portrayal of Diya and insensitivity towards Diya’s tragic nightmare.
Damini talks about how Diya was wet and dancing with Shaurya in the rain, when she is engaged to Karan. Urmi says that she knows about it from Shaurya, as Diya was happy being in the rain, which is good, as she is forgetting her tragedy slowly. Damini takes it otherwise, while Anirudh points out that Diya is a gangrape survivor and as a woman, he asks her to try and understand what she must have gone through, and be sensitive towards her, instead of maligning her character like this. Damini points out that it's easy for Urmi to say so, since she too wasn't satisfied by one man, and left one to go after the other. Urmi is appalled. Anirudh asks her to shut up. But Urmi disgustingly talks aloud, that she did bear with him for seven years, and only when he crossed all limits of atrocities, did she finally decide to leave him. Damini asks who decides the limits, they themselves, as a woman can bear all she wants, and can also stop if she wants. She gives her example that Anirudh isn't the best husband but she still compromises along, and didn't leave him. Urmi stands up and says that maybe the actual truth is that he is compromising with her and didn't leave her. Damini is stunned into silence. She finally speaks up saying that, Urmi might be very head strong, but she shouldn't forget what her limits are, and that she is talking to her mother-in-law. Urmi reply her that if saying the right thing, is bad manners and arrogance on her past, then so be it. Finally, Anirudh speaks up saying that Urmi isn't arrogant, but truthful, since it's actually, he who is compromising, and not leaving Damini, since he couldn't possible, stay with a woman with such a low mentality. Damini starts smiling and saying that of course that will be the case because he never finds fault with Urmi, as she is always right. Anirudh says that he does find that Urmi is always right, as she actually is, and that she can never stoop down to the low level mentality that Damini has. Damini agrees that she has a low mentality and that now she will wait to see that in the wake of getting Diya justice and asks how much do they plan to forgo of their family. Urmi says that neither Diya nor Shaurya can be wrong, as she has full faith on her son, his mannerisms and his intentions will never let him do anything wrong at all. Damini says that they will see which has more power, her upbringing or Samrat’s dirty blood. Urmi is distraught while Anirudh stands tensed.
While Diya combs her hair in the mirror, Karan comes out from the bathroom, having freshened up, and leeringly eyes her bareback. He starts with his pretense love, saying that he saw that they were married and living happily, and that he was loving her, and that he is dying to realise the dream. She smiles at him. He hugs her, and then runs his hand through his bare back, trying to take advantage of the pretense love. She jerks him away asking what's he doing. He says that he is just expressing his love, as it's his right on her. Shaurya passes by and finds him hugging Diya. He is tensed. Karan asks Diya what's the problem. Diya insists him not to. Shaurya calls out to her, and both are startled. He asks Diya why isn't she ready yet, as it's time for the court. He asks Karan to come along, as Diya has to get ready. Karan stays by her side, saying that she will come after changing. Karan resignedly leaves with Shaurya, frustrated at his failure. Diya stands awkwardly.
Outside, Shaurya barely controls his temper, and asks Karan to never take advantage of Diya again. Karan asks what if he does. Shaurya says that he will hit him so hard that he will never forget and asks him to come along. He fumingly complies.
At Gaurav’s residence, Chiku passes by and overhears his father's conversation with Nupur, asking her to beware, while she apologising for her slip of tongue. She doesn't realise that Chiku is here and continues apologising, while Gaurav is tensed. He announces Chiku’s arrival, and Nupur shuts up and leaves. Gaurav faces Chiku sternly. Chiku asks what secret were they talking, that stopped the minute he walked in. Gaurav says that there’s nothing. Chiku asks what relation is going on between the two of them, and what's their deal. Gaurav feigns innocence. Chiku points out all the contradictory ideas, and then points out that his father is being an infidel. Gaurav says that it isn't necessary for him to speak. Chiku asks if he is embarassed. They scream at each other. Asha comes in asking what the matter is, and Chiku walks hastily out in anger. Asha confused goes after her son. Gaurav wonders how long would he hide, as he can't anymore, that Nupur is his wife’s child with her second husband, and he is just taking care of her.
The defense lawyer says that they will now fight a robbery case of the stolen van too along with the rape case, and maybe the garage owner is the rapist himself, since the van is his. Urmi asks him to be sensitive on the issue and then asks him not to mislead the court. He asks Sultan if he got an FIR done, and he says that it did happen. Urmi produces the copy of the fIR. He still defiantly asks how does this prove that the rapists stole the van. She says that the van was found in the exact location, where these three people’s phones were traced on that day. Urmi continues to point out how is this a co-incidence. Nigam says that he has already stated that the phones of his clients got stolen. Urmi asks if it's possible that the people stole the phone and then the van too, and took it to the exact place, where these criminals’ phones were last traced. Urmi adds that this can't be a co-incidence, while he continues to point out to produce solid evidence, and not probable assumptions. He then says that he has an important witness too, and presents one of the rapist's uncle.
The man lies that they were in Shirdi, where they had gotten work, with much difficulty, after which they got arrested. He asks Urmi to question him if she wants. She gets up and tells Nigam that they don't interrogate bought witnesses. He then asks how much did she pay to her witnesses and further asks her to prove her case. She asks for two minutes of the court’s time that the rapists were in the city itself on the day of the crime. The judge grants them permission, overruling the lawyer’s objection. Urmi turns around and finds Shaurya gone. She along with Anirudh and Diya are tensed, as they don't see Shaurya.
