It’s official! The video for ‘Play’, the up-tempo track off Ibiyemi’s debut release, Love Always Wins, has just been shot.
The three-day shoot which took place at various locations in Lagos was directed by the famous Tosin Igho between Wednesday, October 26 to Friday, 28, 2011.

Recently, Ibiyemi, who is under the management of Aboriginal Productions [www.aboriginal-productions.com] enjoyed massive rotation and positive reviews from her single, It Would Be, featuring Dipo.
The love song duet inserted some more to her fast-growing loyal and devoted fan base, and she intends to continue that course with the soon-to-be-released video for her vibey 80s-style song Play.

Reflecting on her childhood, she revealed that, “There was always great music playing in our household. I grew up listening to everything from Calypso to Jazz, and juju to Folk”. Traces of these numerous genres are evident in her melodic delivery portraying her versatility and Ibiyemi, a young veteran of the Nigerian music scene, counts Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, Tracy Chapman, and the legendary Stevie Wonder among her musical influences, without losing her traditional roots.
This fine vocalist has developed a loyal and devoted fan base courtesy singles such as ‘Can You Love Me’, ‘Ma Se Bo Se To’, and her smash hits ‘Don’t Leave Me’ and ‘Ore’ —all songs from her debut release Love Always Wins, which can be found in retail outlets and on iTunes.
