AGN Lagos begins production of TV Soap, issues Work Permit

Don Pedro Aganbi
These are indeed good times for members of the Lagos State chapters of the Actors Guild of Nigeria following a deal signed by leadership of the association with the management of MNET to produce a soap opera that will feature in the cable TV for 52 weeks.

Chairman of the chapter, Mr. Don Pedro Aganbi told newsmen that the soap as well as a film, Campus Party, will be used to identify, discover and celebrate new talents in the industry.
An audition for the new soap was held at the Halie Sellasia hotel in Surulere, early this week.
Meanwhile, leadership of the union has also come out with the design of a work permit that would enable actors in the state to work anywhere in the world. The document which is being produced in conjunction with Interswitch is expected to get the endorsement of major embassies as authentic identity and work permit for the Lagos Actors Guild.
“We are proud to inform you that we are already making some progress; these projects shall impact positively on the members of the guild who we are here to serve. The process to discover and nurture new talents for the industry has started,” Aganbi revealed.
