Know Your Movies gains global protection

As events unfold for the successful production of the first ever biggest television game show in Africa titled Know Your Movie, which is based on movies, Equity Concepts entertainments has joined Format Recognition and Protection Association (FRAPA) for global protection of this format.

FRAPA is an international body dedicated to the protection of formats. Established in 2000 by a group of key industry professionals, FRAPA represents numerous companies from within the television and broadcast industry. Its members include format creators, producers, distributors and broadcasters.
Patty Geneste, chairman of FRAPA, said that he is pleased to welcome Equity Concepts Entertainments as a member of FRAPA. “We hope to build on your membership, cementing our prime position as an independent trade and protection association in the world of television formats.”
The unique television game show which kicked off last year with an official press conference is first of its kind in Nigeria, even globally as it is a sharp departure from all other TV game shows. Software was actually created which acts as the graphic engine of the TV game Show which pulls different genres of movies. The organisers also have customised stage design visualised and built by Nigeria's best stage designer, hence the need for a format which is locally and globally copyrighted.
According to the CEO of Equity Concepts  and founder of Know Your Movies,  Rowland Okorie, “Nigeria has undergone a paradigm shift in its appreciation and thirst for local movies and their very own indigenous cast/story, thus for this reason Nollywood, Gollywood and Bollywood films would feature prominently in the game show. As part of this indicatives and added plus to our company’s social philosophy which is focused on continuous support for ideas that would have positive impacts on the lives of Nigerians, the TV game show will serve as a timely launch pad for the detonation of a new perception to entertainment and empowerment. Youths can now be empowered by remembering what they have watched on TV and also they stand a chance to jump-start their acting careers. This is a new partnership with the next generation. The show promises to empower and reward Nigerians who can pass the test of remembering names of movies, cast, dates, scenes, speeches and story lines.”
Meanwhile, the Creative Director,  Uche Onuigbo stressed that,  “It is a unique entertainment platform creatively packaged to unite sponsors, brands and partners with participants while testing their ability to answer questions on different aspects of movies. Mouth-watering prizes would also be up for grabs as the show unfolds and the winner stands a chance to win N10 million and acting career or house rent in choice location for two years. Final preparations are on high gear for production.”
