Same sex marriage in Nigeria attracts 14 years jail term

The Senate yesterday passed the bill to outlaw same sex marriage in the country. According to the senate, anyone convicted for contracting marriage between same sex is liable to 14 years jail term.
Punishment did not just start and end with those that contract the marriage. It also prescribed 10 years for anybody convicted in aiding and abetting the contraction of same sex marriage in Nigeria and also nullifies certificate of same sex marriage contracted outside the country.

Let me quote our senate president, David Mark on this issue:
“If there is any country that does not want to give us aid on account of this, it should keep its aid. We hold our values, customs and tradition dearly. No country has the right to interfere with the way we make our laws. If it is on the basis of embracing same sex marriage that they want to give us aid they should keep their aid.”

What do people even enjoy in same sex marriage anyway? The bible says, one man, one wife. The end is surely near.
