No doubt Telenovelas are full of
beautiful ladies; however, it’s also a fact that there are lots of handsome as
well as hunky actors.
So today, our MCM is versatile Mexican
actor, model and singer, Rafael Amaya, one of Telemundo hunks known for his
role as the big bad guy drug lord, Aurelio Casillas in 2012 Telemundo’s Lord
of the Skies (El Señor de los Cielos)
which is based on the life of Amado Carrillo Fuentes.
Thanks to his performance in El
Señor de los Cielos, Amaya won the Favorite Lead Actor at the 2014 Premios Tu Mundo, since then he has
won the prize three times consecutively in all the awards galas of Premios Tu Mundo.
In 2015 he got his first lead role in a
film, entitled, Oro y polvo. And in
2016 he obtained a special participation in the American series, Queen of the South, an adaptation of
the telenovela, La Reina del Sur,
where he also played Aurelio Casillas.
Growing up, Amaya took theatre and music
classes. Upon entering college, he moved to San Diego, California to study but
leaves school before he could finish his study. After leaving the University,
he returned to Mexico to try his luck with a music group, the Palapa Band, which did not prosper.
Amaya decided to enroll in the Centro de Educación Artística of Televisa, also
trying to enter the world of music with another group, Garibaldi, with which he recorded two albums.
41-year-old Amaya doesn't ooze a
ridiculous amount of sex appeal as he portrays, however, is sexiness shows on
every snap the actor shares on his Instagram and every shot of him taken on the
red carpets at various events.
He acted on the big screen in films
including Desnudos and Asi del precipicio. In 2014, he appeared
in two episodes of the series Señora
Acero (woman of Steel) as Aurelio Casillas.
He has been
nominated for multiple TVyNovelas, Premios People en Espanol, and Premios Tu
Mundo Awards for his work in the series, El Senor de los Cielos, Las Dos Caras
de Ana, Salome, and La Reina del Sur.
