Mexican
and American actress, Kate del Castillo born Kate del Castillo
Negrete Trillo famous for her strong and chiselled athletic body started her acting career at the age of eight in
the movie El gran escape.
The
award-winning actress who has made a name for
herself as one of Mexico’s most acclaimed actresses follows in the footsteps of her father, Eric del
Castillo, a legend of Mexican cinema and a soap opera actor himself. No
wonder she’s good at what she does especially taking up the roles of drug lords
where the toughest survive in the game.
Although,
Kate, 45, made her acting debut in 1978 when she took part in a film called El gran escape ‘The Last Escape’, she became famous in 1991 when
she starred in Muchachitas as
Leticia, as well as in La Reina del Sur "Queen of the
South" and series Dueños del Paraíso (The Queen of
Miami) for the Telemundo network and in other telenovelas as a leading actress.
Afterward, she worked in several American TV series and had supporting roles in
Hollywood feature films.
In
November 2007, Kate was named one of the "Stars of the Year" and in
2011 as one of the "25 most influential women" and "50 most
beautiful" by People en Español magazine.
In
2009, she was appointed Ambassador for the Mexican Commission on Human Rights
and the following year she helped launch the Blue Heart Campaign in order to
raise awareness and fight human trafficking.
Aside
acting, Kate has also appeared in advertising campaigns for L'Oréal and Ford.
The ex-wife of actor, Aarón Díaz in November 2015
launched a new brand of tequila named Honor
del Castillo in association with the Vivanco Family. She serves as the
spokesperson for the brand.
Kate who has featured in a number of films, and tv
series goes the extra mile to look all not just stylish but sexy on the red carpet when
attending special events.
