Easter greetings from Hon Patrick Obahiagbon

“Beyond the fugacious razzmatazz of the moment, I seriously call attention to the rutilanting and coruscating modus vivendi of Master Jesus the Christ and I dare pontificate that save and until we viscerally emblematize the virtues of self-immolation, quintessential abnegation, eulogizeable simplicity, Christ-like humility and immerse ourselves in a platonic emotionalism of agape love and communalistic service, we would have woefully failed in learning and imbibing the true meaning of EASTER.
We must elevate this moment from a proscenium of joie de vivre into one of meditative transcendentalism”.

Happy Easter!!!

Education Will Suffer Under The New Regime Of Fuel Subsidy Removal if..

I received this email from Mrs Comfort Ogunye, Executve Director, Female Leadership Forum and I thought I should share it.
The article is on the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy on education. It is a research carried out by Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA).

Whether a state is classed as economically developed or developing, the forces of globalization will impact upon national social policy choices in a variety of ways. Hence the decision of Nigerian government to remove the fuel subsidy may not be unconnected with international policy directives issued by the powerful International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Meet Nigeria's future Next Supermodel

Whenever you see her strut the runway you can’t help but ask who this little model is. She catwalks like a professional- she is confident, focused and have got the swag. Beautiful five year old Oyinye Agbotia is a supermodel to watch out for in the future. She probably wants to take after  her aunty, Meg Alabi ,  ex- model turned designer.

All the best Oyinye. I love your swag!!!

Magnanimous Christian Doherty

Christian Doherty

I was amazed to read in one of the dailies that Glo Naija Sings season 3 winner, Christian Doherty announced after the grand finale that he would be sharing his $100,000 prize money with Vickky and Mattade.
Well, it would be N200, 000 and N300, 000 for Mattade and Vickky respectively. Well, there are still Nigerians with good hearts when it comes to money matters. I know you would say how much is that compared to the prize money? But let’s be sincere how many people would do this?
Christian, well done. But I hope it is not just a public promise sha?

Tattoo: The rising fad

No doubt, tattoo has been around for a long time but what amazes me is the emerging craze for it among most celebrities and some fashion freak.

Debate: Should prostitution be legalized in Nigeria?

Senator Ike Ekweremadu

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu is canvassing for the legalization of prostitution in Nigeria and this has raised some concern, especially among the women.

According to him, “We need to regulate prostitution in this country so that if anyone wants to indulge in prostitution, the person should be registered and issued with a license. If we say we want to stop it, it would be difficult. It is done in other countries; let us regulate it by issuing license.”

Some Nigerians have expressed their disappointment over his campaign while some think it is a welcome idea to curb prostitution.

But really, is this what a country like ours should be canvassing for right now?

What do you think?
