Argentine Actress Christian Bach Dies From Respiratory Failure At 59


One of the most famous faces of Latin American soap operas, Christian Bach, has passed away on Tuesday, February 26, according to a statement released by her family.

The actress and producer died from respiratory failure at the age of 59, according to the statement issued by her family.

Bach was the wife of Mexican actor, Humberto Zurita, and mother of actor Sebastián Zurita. The couple also had a second son, Emiliano Zurita.

“It was always her wish to safeguard personal and family matters in absolute privacy in order to lead a normal life, parallel to our profession and the media exposure derived from our work,” the statement read in part.


“It is this public part of our lives that today forces us to share with all of you this great loss for our family.”

“Christian was an exemplary actress and mother; a super mother and a wife that filled the life of her family with love, courage, valor and the great desire to live life to the fullest, in a way that was congruent with her ideas and yearnings,” the statement added.

Bach was born in 1959 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She graduated with a law degree and later moved to Mexico to dedicate herself to acting.

The actress won the Best Actress award at the 1984 and 1989 TVyNovelas and the Best Actress TuMundo award from Telemundo in 2013.

She featured in Telemundo series like “La Patrona” “La Impostora” and many others.
