Purabh goes to Abhi's room and gives him a piece of his mind. Purabh tells Abhi that he had almost achieved what he wanted and took the wrong decision. He asks Abhi to not take the wrong decision and not to marry Tanu, and that he shouldn’t reject Pragya for Tanu. He says he knows what Abhi wants, and if he marries Tanu, he will repent his whole life. He explains that the principles and promises are not bigger than anybody’s life and that the decision will ruin both him and Pragya’s lives. He asks him to think about his happiness and not his promises. Abhi sits there frustrated and upset. He tells him that he needs to give his love for Pragya more importance. While Purabh is trying his best to convince Abhi to take a wise decision. Purabh further asks, now that he has confessed his love for Pragya, why is he still confused?. Abhi hugs Purabh and cries. He says that he knows he loves Pragya, but he is bound by the promise he made to Tanu. He asks Purabh for forgiveness and tells him that he will have to stick to his promise despite the fact that he loves Pragya more than anythhing else in the world. He can sacrifice anything, but cannot break his promise. Abhi walks out of the room after saying it.
Since it's Tanu's pre-wedding ceremony, Pragya is sitting in her room looking at her wedding picture. She is crying and feels bad about her situation and Sarla comes to console her. Pragya cries incessantly saying that she wants to be Abhi's wife and tells her mother that this time she is totally shattered, she doesn’t have the strength nor the willingness to stand up again and fight for anything in life. Sarla feels bad for her daughter and takes care of her. Pragya tells her that she cannot handle it this time and she is at her weakest. She further says that she has never felt so depressed, and asks why it always happens with her.
Pragya is devastated, she becomes so depressed that she pleads to her mother to do something. She incessantly telling Sarla that she cannot live without Abhi and doesn't know what to do in life now. Despite knowing that it's Tanu's pre-wedding ceremony, she decides to go the wedding so she can accept that Abhi can never be her husband again. Sarla looks at her helplessly as she keeps crying saying that she wants to be with Abhi. Pragya hugs her mother unable to bear the pain. There, In Mehra’s house, the celebrations are in a full swing. Aaliya makes Tanu sit on the seat and suggests they start the haldi rituals with Tanu till the time Abhi comes. Aaliya then asks Daadi to put haldi on Tanu first after mocking them. Daasi stops Daadi but she goes ahead anyway with Aaliya saying that she will do it. Daadi sits in front of Tanu and stares at the haldi bowl. Tanu tells Daadi that she is glad she is going to be the first one to put haldi on her face. She also taunts her. Daadi smiles and asks her to not be so happy so soon. She tells her that she will never accept her as her daughter-in-law and will never give her the status of Mehra family’s daughter-in-law.
She takes a lot of haldi in her hands and rubs it on Tanu's face forcefully and brutally cursing her instead of giving her blessings. Aaliya and Tanu's mother are shocked at Daadi's behaviour and curses. Daadi humiliates Tanu with her curses as Tanu rubs some haldi back in her hand.
Tanu doesn’t mind it, she says that it doesn't matter to her if Abhi loves her or not or get love from his family. All that matters is that she becomes a daughter-in-law in the Mehra house which she has become and that she at least took Pragya's name, if not her place. She laughs at Daadi’s misery. Daadi then gets up. Tanu's mother sees Abhi coming downstairs and drags him to the haldi ceremony. Abhi looks at Purabh who ensures that he gets Purabh's disapproval. Tanu's mother rubs haldi on Abhi's face as Purabh makes sure that he stands in front of Abhi to remind him that his decision is wrong and warns him not to do it. But, Abhi is bound by his promise and is thinking about Pragya, he wants to see her and how Purabh tried to stop him earlier.
After Tanu's mother, Aaliya sits down to rub haldi on Abhi's face. Daadi, Daasi and Purabh are discussing together how to stop the wedding and trying to find a way out of this difficult situation. Daadi says that Purabh has done more than what a friend does for another friend. Daadi says that only Pragya can stop the wedding now. Tanu sits in front of Abhi to rub haldi on his face but sees him upset and it doesn't matter to her that Abhi does not even want to marry her. Aaliya then asks Abhi to rub some haldi on Tanu, too. He obliges but very nicely rubs haldi on her face thinking it's Pragya sitting in front of him. Daadi and Daasi are shocked to see Abhi smile. Tanu gets happy and says ‘I love you Abhi’. Abhi's smile fades as soon as he realises that it's Tanu in front of him and he is dreaming. Abhi then gets upset as he realises that his decision to marry Tanu is wrong. He gets up and walks away. Daadi and Dassi are determined to do something to stop the marriage. There, Sarla gets some tea for Pragya as she wonders if she should go to the wedding. Sarla tells her that she has no answers for her questions this time. She tells Pragya that she needs to make her own decisions. Pragya tells her that she is too confused about what to do. Pragya says her heart wants to expose Tanu. She wants to tell Abhi that she is his wedded wife, but she is afraid that it could be harmful for Abhi’s mental condition. She doesn’t want to lose Abhi forever. Sarla supports her decision and says that their relationship was destined to be ended at this stage and further tells her that you don't always get what you want in life. Sarla again tells her that maybe they aren't made for each other and asks her to back outand stop trying to get Abhi back. She says that Pragya will just have to be happy with the fact that Abhi will be alive and sound somewhere.
As Pragya's mother advises her to step back, Tanu is too excited about getting married to Abhi and shares that happiness with Aaliya. Abhi is missing Pragya very much. He comes back to his room and slips over his dumbbell and falls down. He imagines Pragya there helping him in getting up. He falls on the bed over her and talks to her. He says that he does not have anyone worrying over him to which she disagrees and confesses her love for him that she ‘I love you’. He goes on to tickle her and realises that he was just dreaming as he realises that soon Pragya will move away from him. He feels guilty and cannot stop thinking about Pragya and wishes to meet her at least once.
He calls Pragya's landline to hear her voice and she picks up. After a while of silence, she realizes it was Abhi on the other side he is missing her, she also doesn’t say anything over the call and starts crying. Daadi comes to Pragya's house and and requests Sarla to let her meet Pragya. She wants to take Pragya to Mehra’s house. Sarla says she doesn’t want to stretch this thing any more, she and Pragya already faced lots of ignorance and struggle at Mehra’s house. Daadi tries to convince Pragya's mother to send her over as Abhi is still not married and that there is still a chance to make Pragya win. Daadi goes to Pragya’s room and asks her to come along but she refuses. She tries to convince Pragya that she is not taking the right decision and she cannot give up at this point but Pragya disagrees. Daadi tries her best to convince Pragya that Abhi and her ( Pragya ) are made for each other, if they try to live without each other then they both will suffer.
Pragya goes on a rant saying what all happened with her till now. How life has been unfair to her all along and it is almost living like dead people. Pragya says that she struggled a lot, she fought with everyone, with Aaliya, with Tanu and sometimes with her own destiny to get her rights. From the day of her marriage she has been fighting for love and Abhi’s respect. She has been tested so many times in Mehra’s house. She fought and compromised so many times that now she has lost patience and strength to fight again and Daadi listens to her. She tells Daadi that she is sorry, she will not go to their marriage function. Now she is tired of fighting, Abhi has chosen Tanu over her, she has accepted his decision. Daadi ask then why she has kept her marriage picture on her desk. Pragya says that the circumstances are such that if she asks for her rights or tell Abhi that she is his wife then Abhi might get an attack and the loss will be hers to bear. She adds that she has no idea about her life or what her fate has planned for her.
