MCM: Jencarlos Canela

Tall and handsome actor, Jencarlos Canela is not only one of the stars of telenovela but also fans favourite. The 29-year-old actor who is known to make women's heart melt is of Cuban descent.

Jencarlos Canela was born in Miami, Florida, United States of America to Lisette and Heriberto Canela. He is in the United States for starring the lead role of Xavier in the TV series Telenovela.

He is also a popular singer and songwriter. Canela's musical career started at a young age and that was at the age of 12. He joined the musical group "Boom Boom Pop" as its lead singer and performed successfully in several occasions. Though he was having a wonder life as its lead singer, he decided to begin his solo career in 2002. And he has been successful as a solo artiste.

HIs debut album Búscame was released on November 10, 2009 and his second album Un Nuevo Día was released two years later. He has also been active in acting since 2007.

Although, he began acting in 2007, he made his movie debut in 2010. In 2010, he starred the role of Brandon in the movie Hunted By Night. That year he also appeared in the movie Más sabe el diablo: El primer golpe. 

In 2011, he got nominated in Premio Lo Nuestro for the first time in his life. It is also one of the prestigious musical awards. He was also honoured with this award that year and that was for Breakout Artist of the Year.

In 2012, he got nominated in Premios Tu Mundo for five different categories. He was nominated for The Best Kiss, The Perfect Couple, Favorite Lead Actor, Best Novela Soundtrack and The Favorite of the Night. He was honoured from the later three categories.

Jencarlos has been nominated in Premios Juventud twice and out of these two nominations he has been honoured once. He won this award in 2013 for Song of Summer. He was also nominated in this award in 2014 for Song corta-venas.

Jencarlos and his ex-girlfriend, talented actress and model, Gaby Espino welcomed their first child together in February 2012 who they named Nickolas Canela Espino. 

Jencarlos loves to look good when it comes to his dressing. And when it comes to his hair, he either spots short straight and short wavy cut hairstyles.

He has featured in telenovelas like “Pecados Ajenos”, “Dona Barbara”, “Mas Sabe El Diablo,”  “Mi corazón insiste en Lola Volcán” (My heart beats for lola) “Pasión prohibida” (Forbidden Passion). In March 2016, Canela portrayed Jesus Christ in the musical special, "The Passion" on Fox.
