MCM: Carlos Ponce

Puerto Rican actor and television personality, Carlos Ponce, is one individual who interprets his roles beautifully well. Hate or love him for his roles, you will agree that Ponce is good at what he does.

Ponce began his acting career participating in Spanish language soap operas for Televista and Telemundo. Ponce continued to expand his acting career by participating in various American television series. He did not limit himself solely to a career in television.
Ponce, who is also a singer and composer, is also active in the American movie industry as a character actor.

Before he began acting, he attended South Miami High School in Miami, Florida, where he was active in the drama department's annual shows. He graduated in 1990.
As a child, Ponce actively participated in his school's plays and at home he would often put on a show for the family by singing the latest tunes.  Nicknamed "Carlitos", in Puerto Rico, Ponce started to appear in television commercials at the age of six. He attended high school in Humacao and was a member of the school's drama club.
When his family moved to Miami, Florida, Ponce continued to participate in his school's productions at South Miami Senior High. He was named the best student actor of the southern region of the United States.

He hosted a show called Hablando (Talking) for television station Univision, his first serious television debut and after his debut he gave up his university studies. When the show ended, he got his first role in a soap opera for Televisa, Guadalupe. He participated in another soap opera for Televisa, Sentimientos Ajenos, in which he played the main character. Ponce also sang the theme song for the production.

As a singer and composer, Ponce released his first album titled Carlos Ponce, and it included three of his own compositions. The album reached the #1 spot in the Latin Billboards for nine weeks in the Hispanic Community of the United States. It also reached the #1 spot in Central America and South America. He was awarded a Double Platinum Award for the sales which his album generated.
He has featured in telenovelas like; Perro Amor (Cruel love), Santa Diabla, Silvana Sin Lana (Manuel & Silvana) and tv series like Devious Maids. Some films he has starred in are Single in South Beach, Couples Retreat, Spy and comedy films Rio and Just My Luck amongst others.
