Telemundo Debuts First Musical Telenovela

As the interesting series, Iron Rose (La Dona) wraps up on Friday, October 13, it will be replaced immediately with the new and first musical telenovela, Price of Fame.
Price of Fame (Guerra de Idolos) is the first scripted drama series with music from Telemundo and it features a cast of actors, singers and dancers. Although it is categorized as a telenovela, it is produced very differently from most of the soap operas that populate Spanish-language television.

Alberto Guerra
Synopsis
Price of Fame follows the story of Solars brothers, Julio and Mateo Solar, played by Daniel Elbittar and Alberto Guerra, a bigwig Latin musical family who settled in Houston. Julio Cesar Solar is music’s number one star, and his younger brother Mateo Solar is one of the industry’s most important composers and producers. They have fame and power, but an unexpected tragedy will shake everything they’ve built and lead Mateo to embark on a search for answers. What he’ll find is an unimaginable network of mafias linked to the music business – all of which he will now have to face. At the head of this network is the popular music singer, Rafa Zabala and the corrupt businessman Amado Matamoros.  In his journey, Mateo falls in love with the aspiring singer, Manara Matamoros, Amado's half-sister, who has sought his guidance as producer. This, however, will not prevent Mateo from unleashing a war against his powerful enemies upon discovering the truth.
This series features a wide range of music, from pop and reggae to Spanish ranchero and mariachi, with some songs performed ‘in concert’ and others sung completely live by the very talented cast of singers and musicians.  María Leon’s voice is simply outstanding.  She is the show’s Lea Michele.
