This year, she chose the Ebenezer Hills
Junior Secondary School, located off the Akosombo road. According to Jackie,
she believes that children need education in a sound environment with
recreation that is good for the body and mind. Hence, she donated items that
would provide the enabling environment for studying and recreation as well.
Items donated for recreation included table tennis board, football jerseys and
a new goal post for the school’s plain football pitch. Jackie also donated
ceiling fans for six classrooms in order to create a conducive environment
for teaching and learning.
She rounded up the donations with a
kind gesture of paying for the WAEC registration of all the final year students
of the school as well as sponsorship for five teachers to learn ICT at IPMC.
She also made a cash donation to the school. The headmistress of the school,
Mrs Esther Obeng was full of joy as she thanked Jackie Appiah for her
assistance to the school. The students were really excited and grateful for her
kind gestures.
