Gearing up for Runway to Stardom 2013

Runway to stardom, is a show produced by Gemstone Events which started June last year to create an enabling platform to empower Youth in Creative Arts.

The first show which was on August 31, 2012 witnessed an enthusiastic, expectant crowd of young people from the fashion, music and fashion world tagged “TGIF Night” where role models in these fields were honoured and given awards for contributions to Creative Arts.

Jaywon, Labi Olayori, Bash, Koffi, keffe, LKT and others were in attendance. There were also amazing performances by young acts. Fashion and Dance also gave the wow factor at the show which held at Devine Hotels, Ikeja. The media partners were WAP tv, ONTV, Excite TV and City People, The Sun and Ovation.

The second show which held in December also had a massive attendance of fashion designers like ELGrandeur, Dimz, Distinct, Vyvoxx Naija and Ankara Freak showcasing hot outfits on stunning models which were discovered at show. Tari Krystal Dokubo whose first experience was at the TGIF show is now a contestant at this year’s Miss Nigeria Beauty pageant. Other acts included Boomerang, Gabriel Afolayan, Ayo of Project fame, Paschal Ojezele and James Addah of Gulder Ultimate Search came with Stunning Warriors.

Season 3 is tagged “Runway to Stardom 2013”. In this season, auditions will be taking place in Port Harcourt, Benin, Abuja and grand Finale will hold in Lagos in October. Designers who have been confirmed for the show from all over Nigeria include Waju Couture, Khimol Fashions,  Maz Couture, J Kouture, Sean Dodo Wears, Benjamin Gold and Deizy,  Deglitzy Couture from Benin, Ankara Freak and Bling Accessories are all expected with Star Designer, Shegzy Kool on board.

Prizes include trips to South Africa and Accra, shows for Comedians, record contracts for musicians and N1.5. Modeling contracts for models, awards for different categories of winners, spa treatments, fabrics from Vlisco and LKA fabrics.

The show is billed to hold in October at Club Vegas while auditions will take place at Berkeley Hotels.
