The University of Lagos (UNILAG), has appointed Professor Babajide Alo of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Research). His appointment took effect from March 2, 2012.
According to a release from the university’s information Unit, Professor Alo’s appointment is in accordance with the provision of the University of Lagos Act (1967) as specifically amended in Sections 4 and 5 in the University (Miscellaneous Provision) Act 1993. It is sequel to his nomination and election at the university senate meeting held on February 29, 2012.
Until his appointment, he was Managing Director, UNILAG Consult, a consultancy service of the institution and also Head of Department of Chemistry.
